The New Homophobia, Part 3: The Boxer Ceiling

If you thought gay men were safe from woke homophobia, think again.

Last time, I covered how and why trans-identified male (TiM) fetishists are harassing lesbians and invading lesbian spaces. This time, I’m going to be looking at woke homophobia aimed at gay men.

Trans-identified females (TiF) are purveyors of woke homophobia who have zero respect for gay men or our boundaries. From threatening hate crimes to spewing slurs to physically attacking gay men, TiFs have shown they belong nowhere near the gay male community - yet they keep trying to force their way in. This week, I’ll be looking at why straight women transition, how they promote woke homophobia, and how it differs from the rhetoric of TiMs.

First, a look at statistics from the Tavistock & Portman Gender Identity Development Service in the UK.

From this table, we can see the massive spike in referrals of both sexes, but the jump in TiFs is more pronounced - the percentage increase of referrals is more than double that of TiMs. It used to be that more males than females were transitioning, and the vast majority were homosexual (HSTS), but now the opposite is true. And these straight TiFs have made public their disdain for gay men who won’t give them the time of day.

Why do straight women transition?

Unlike straight males who transition, almost all of whom do so for sexual fetishistic reasons (autogynephilia), straight females have more varied motivations. Many, especially those in their teens and 20s, transition when people in their friend group do. This is known as Rapid-Onset Gender Dysphoria (ROGD), a phenomenon in which a girl reports feelings of dysphoria only after those in her milieu do. This “dysphoria” is entirely made up and often is different from that reported by HSTS women who transition; ROGD TiFs’ self-reported dysphoria more often relates to dissatisfaction with gender roles than long-term bodily discomfort. ROGD TiFs sometimes detransition when they move away from their trans friends.

Other TiFs are driven by trauma, who want to escape from sexual violence, misogyny, or sexualization. These TiFs generally do not harass gay men.

The third category of TiFs are fetishists, like their TiM counterparts. These TiFs spend a lot of time reading gay pornographic fanfiction or cartoons online and develop a fetish for gay men. They often envision themselves as gay men during self-pleasure sessions, much as “trans lesbians” do, and their fetish grows until they decide to transition. Dr. Ray Blanchard, the researcher who first studied autogynephilia, believes there is a similar phenomenon in heterosexual females who transition and fetishize gay men.

What is Yaoi?

Yaoi is a form of Japanese manga or anime that centers around young, twink-like gay men in romantic and pornographic scenes. Almost all yaoi is written by and for straight women. Gay men, on the other hand, prefer bara, which features more muscular men and is generally less romantic and even more sexualized.

A very large number of TiFs report reading or watching yaoi or similar fiction before transitioning. They claim it helped them recognize their true identity, when what really happened is they developed a sexual fetish for gay men. They sometimes report feelings of dysphoria after their fetish develops, which is socially reinforced by others in the yaoi fandom. These TiFs do not have long-term physical dysphoria like HSTS women do; whatever they claim to feel is entirely rooted in their fetish.

“BL” is short for “boy love.” These women decided to transition after their fetish got out of hand.

Some people refer to this phenomenon of women fantasizing about themselves as gay men as autoandrophilia.

The Boxer Ceiling

The Boxer Ceiling, sometimes referred to as the Jockstrap Ceiling, is the gender-flipped version of the Cotton Ceiling, the phenomenon in which heterosexual TiMs try to coerce lesbians into having sex with them. There is no official name for this phenomenon because it hasn’t been happening as long and there have been no organized seminars to promote it.

TiFs upset gay men won’t date or sleep with them go about their love quest in a slightly different way than TiMs do toward lesbians. While TiMs are often aggressive, lewd, and make threats of sexual violence (hello, male socialization), TiFs prefer the guilt-trip approach and are more prone to using homophobic slurs than their TiM counterparts. Let’s take a look at some Boxer/Jockstrap Ceiling rhetoric from TiFs.

The above screenshot is of a TiF porn star who insults gay male sexual practices, implying that penis-in-vagina sex is less disgusting than anal sex. What she fails to realize is that gay men are into anal but not into vaginal sex, regardless of how she chooses to frame it. Several other TiFs have made similar statements, not recognizing the inherent homophobia therein.

She needs to “grow tf up” and stop being homophobic toward gay men.

“Strap-ons exist” is the TiF equivalent of TiMs’ “I have a biological strap-on.” This is absurdly homophobic; a strap-on is not the same as a real penis and it’s laughable to ask gay men to be with a woman who uses a strap-on when we could just find an actual man (you know, someone we’re actually into) to be with.

Just like what TiMs try with lesbians, this expectation that gay men will be willing to sleep with someone if they make themselves into a facsimile of a man is delusional. Because these women are straight, they aren’t used to being rejected by most people they’re interested in, but once they try to go after gay men, they’re faced with the insurmountable odds known as male homosexuality. This leads to many of them growing deeply resentful of gay men.

A TiF threatens to commit a “strongly dislike crime” (read: hate crime) against gay men for rejecting her.

These female self-made incels often lash out with barrages of homophobic slurs that would make the Westboro Baptist Church proud.

After spewing slurs, a TiF tells gay men to commit suicide because they rejected her.

Sometimes TiFs resort to using threats, though not as often as their TiM counterparts.

Others promote the idea that “a hole is a hole” regardless of biology, ignoring the reality of gay men’s exclusive same-sex attraction. Many call us “immature,” “weak,” or “cowardly” for not being into vagina.

It’s the concern of anyone you try to date or sleep with.

Some trans organizations have gone so far as to promote “stealth” TiFs getting fucked by gay men in bathhouses without disclosing their trans identity. In this online guide to gay male sex for women from the UK’s CliniQ, a TiF explains how she does not disclose her trans status to men who quite likely would not give consent if they knew she was female.

This is called rape by deception.

Even Grindr and Scruff are becoming infested, with the former explicitly promoting TiFs for woke cred even though such apps are notoriously hostile to TiFs, for good reason.

“Not a girl” yet she has boobs and looks like a girl. Something’s not adding up here.

Telling gay men to “fuck off” on an app for gay men is beyond homophobic. To think you can just walk into a gay male space and tell us to fuck off for our homosexuality? If she weren’t trans-identified, she’d be castigated by the woke mob, but because she shaved her head, she’s a marginalized, misunderstood soul and we’re bigots for not validating her gender identity.

After recognizing they’re not succeeding in gay men’s spaces, many TiFs use woke language to attempt to deconstruct or erode our boundaries. What they forget is that their inclusion in gay male spaces is erroneous; they are neither male nor homosexual, and it seems highly entitled of them to be making demands of us, especially when those demands relate to our sexuality.

“Phallocentrism” is, in other words, male homosexuality. Using language to characterize homosexuality as a “genital preference” or “genital fetish” is homophobic. Gay men only like other males - and yes, that includes the dick. There’s nothing misogynistic about male homosexuality; our sexuality simply doesn’t include females.

What should gay men do about this growing problem? Work with lesbians as allies to fight back against this wave of woke homophobia. Lesbians have been fighting this battle longer, and they’ve had our backs in the past. We should have theirs, and they’ll have ours. Being steadfast in our identity and desire to preserve gay spaces, as well as pointing out the inherent homophobia in the modern trans activist movement, will raise awareness and bring more people to our side.
